I have tried to discourage thinking about CALL as a distinct component of our curriculum, and succeeded I think in encouraging people to think in terms of the 'curriculum' primarily, applying CALL only as it would appropriately enhance and augment the teaching goals of the institute. As a result the horse is placed squarely before the cart, with clearly defined pedagogical goals guiding a cart which everyone is happy to jump on, since they see technology as worthwhile both for professional development but as a topic of communicative language development in class.
