Guiding principle 2 -Technology requires competent craftsmen: you can't have too many cooks

The best workshop in the world is wholly dependent on the skill of the craftsmen who staff it. It is not enough that the workmen have the tools handy when needed; they have to know, or be able to learn, what to do with those tools. Toward this end, there are these important criteria.

At the MLI teachers with interests in various aspects of technology can find peers to work with, and those with demonstrated propensities toward adapting the technology toward our program goals are given release time from teaching to carry out the tasks required. Consequently, teachers are the ones who tend to develop not only our CALL materials, but also our student, teacher, evaluation, and administrator interfaces.
